Atlanta last football season struggled down the stretch. Carolina is the media’s chic pick to win the Super Bowl. Michael Vick usually plays well vs the Panthers, and today was no different.

On their first possession Atlanta had an impressive drive, but missed a long field attempt. Carolina scored first on a John Kasay field goal. The Falcons answered right back, this time Michael Koenen made his field goal. Boy, Atlanta was able to move the football against once of the top defenses in the NFL. The Falcons put together another nice 10 play drive, and got another field early in the second quarter. The Panthers struggled on offense, but their special teams helped them out when they blocked a field goal.

Well, their excitement was short lived, when the Michael Vick moved out of the pocket, and threw a nice pass to Michael Jenkins, who ran in for the touchdown. The Falcons had to be feeling good going into halftime up 13-3.

The Panthers cut into the lead with another John Kasay field goal (I’m tired of all these field goals maybe next week these football teams will be able to get touchdowns. A Michael Vick 1 yard touchdown pass to Alge Crumpler concluded the scoring, giving the Falcons an impressive 20-6 win on the road against one of the top teams in football. Maybe this could be Mike Vick’s year.
