Baseball season is right around the corner, and it’s time to make some predictions. The smaller market teams have made a push this offseason, to save baseball from the Yankees-Red Sox non stop headlines. Will it work? Probably not.
A.L East
New York Yankees
The Yankees have solved one of their weaknesses by getting Johnny Damon. This team is stacked like every year, but who knows if that will translate into playoff success.
Boston Red Sox
Last year was somewhat of a disappointment for the Red Sox, and injuries were a big reason why. An early exit in the postseason happened last year, but this time around, the Red Sox have added Josh Beckett, and if Curt Shilling is healthy, this team will have a shot at another World Series.
Toronto Blue Jays
If Roy Halladay is healthy all season, this team can make a run at the postseason. Sadly, the Blue Jays are stuck in a division of giants, so they need a collapse from the Red Sox or Yankees. It could happen.
Baltimore Orioles
What a mess 2005 was for the O’s. After starting the season well, the bottom fell out, and fast. Now the team can move on, and get back to playing Oriole baseball, that is 4th place baseball.
Tampa Bay Devil Rays
I’m tired of this team. They have never made a run at the playoffs, and need to go to a different division to ever have a shot. Remember when Major League Baseball wanted to get rid of teams? Why did they keep the Devil Rays? Give the city of Tampa a better ball club
A.L Central
Minnesota Twins
Torii Hunter got hurt at the wrong time last year, and the Twins missed the playoffs. They still have Johan Santana, who for my money, is the best pitcher in the American League, and if you have pitching, you have a chance.
Chicago White Sox
The champs are looking to defend their crown. This team actually got better in the offseason, and the only major loss was Frank Thomas. If you listen to the G.M. though, that’s a good thing. Its hard to repeat, I can see a letdown from the White Sox.
Cleveland Indians
The Indians caught fire late last year, and almost made the playoffs. If they had, they could have won the World Series. The Indians could win the division this year, but for now, I’m staying with the Twins.
Detroit Tigers
Same old story, the Tigers make some moves, but miss the posteason. I think the team will be a lot better this year, and might make a small run at the playoffs, but look at the teams above them, it’s not easy to make the playoffs in baseball.
Kansas City Royals
I feel bad for the Royals. Things can’t be as bad as last year. Still, they will probably be in the Central cellar.
A.L West
Oakland A’s
The A’s are always good in the second half of the season. They got cold late in the season last year, but I don’t think that will happen again.
Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
What a dumb name. Anyway, you never know with the Angels, they aren’t that far from the 2002 World Series champs, but I’m not sold on the Angles of Anaheim.
Seattle Mariners
Felix Hernandez isn’t even 20 years old yet. This team should be good in a few years, but for now, they will have to wait.
Texas Rangers
This team has the bats, but they lack the pitching staff needed to make the playoffs.

good page and a lot of good information but a little rough on the Devil Rays. They are still a young team and are trying to find a roster that fits. Give them time and they will make a run to the playoffs
