Tiger Woods vs the rest of the field? That always seems to be the match-up in majors on the final day. Tiger was 11-0 with a lead or co-lead. Tiger was in the final group with Luke Donald, with a bunch of former major winners chasing. Tiger quickly put the Championship out of their reach.

Usually when Tiger has a lead, he can play conservative golf, and just get pars to win. However, Medinah was giving up a lot of birdies all week, so Tiger just went out there, and made a lot of birdies. Most of the other players were unable to do that. Luke Donald never got it going, and finished with a 74. Luke just couldn’t get putts to fall. Mike Weir started off hot, but watched his great round disappear when he bogeyed four out of the final six holes. Geoff Ogilvy double bogeyed on the 3rd hole ended his dreams. A four-putt double bogey, ouch. Shauh Micheel played a pretty good round, and the 2003 champ finish all alone in 2nd.

Tiger was cruising, and was flirting with 20 under par. A bogey on 17 ended that hope. But Tiger still finished 18 under par, which ties his PGA Championship record (he owns all four major championship low totals). Tiger Woods wins his 12th major. Tiger is on the chase for Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 major championships. Oh, and Tiger wants another Tiger Slam, who can stop him?
