The NBA All-Star was back in Houston for the first time since 1989. For the Houston Fans, it has been a disappointing season, with Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming battling injuries. The introductions for the players was odd, a full orchestra played “Crazy Train, and Ric Flair’s music. There were some first time All Stars this year, and you usual cast of All-Stars. Shaq, and A.I, Kobe, and Vince Carter. This promised to be a good game. Destiny’s Child sang the national anthem. Remember when they got booed a few years ago at the NBA Finals, that was funny.

The first quarter saw the players attempt showtime plays, but their timing was a little off. The 4 Pistons, plus Paul Pierce came into the game to help steady the ship for the East. LeBron James showed off his jumper and hit two 3 pointers in the first half. For the West, they tried to get T-Mac the MVP, as he was piling up points, and the West had a 23-8 run to end the first half. The West led 70-53 at the half. Then came what seemed like the longest halftime show ever.

The West had a 21 point lead, but the East fought back. The East 25-9 run to start the 3rd LeBron James got hot and made some 3 pointers. Ben Wallace blocked Pau Gasol. Pau Gasol was sick, and that made it worse. That sucks, it was his first time being and all-star, then that happens. The game got a lot more intense, as both teams wanted that small $20,000 to the winning team.

The East took the lead, and both teams fought back and forth. Kobe Bryant hit a jumper to tie the game, but then Dwyane Wade scored of an Allen Iverson miss, to give the East the lead with 16 seconds left. The West had a few shots, but Tracy McGrady and Kobe Bryant could not score. The East wins 122-120. LeBron James won the MVP. This was King James moment at the throne. James had 29 points to lead the East, while Tracy McGrady lead the West with 36 points.
